This course develops foundational knowledge of sectional anatomy as it applies to cross-sectional medical imaging modalities, including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and diagnostic medical sonography (DMS). Students examine the spatial relationships of anatomical structures using axial, sagittal, and coronal imaging planes and analyze normal and abnormal anatomical appearances across imaging modalities. Instruction emphasizes three-dimensional anatomical reasoning, anatomical–pathological correlation, and image interpretation skills required to support accurate image evaluation and protocol selection in cross-sectional imaging practice.
