This course introduces students to the systematic study of human society and social behavior. Students explore how individuals, groups, and institutions shape—and are shaped by—cultural norms, social structures, and systems of power. Through classical and contemporary sociological theories, learners analyze topics such as culture, socialization, inequality, deviance, family, race, gender, and social change. Emphasis is placed on developing a sociological perspective that connects personal experiences to larger social patterns and current social issues.
