CT 360: CT Clinical Practicum

Credits 8

This clinical practicum provides supervised education in computed tomography, allowing students to apply didactic knowledge to real-world clinical practice. Students progressively develop competence in patient care, protocol selection, image acquisition, image evaluation, post-processing, and quality assurance activities within an approved clinical setting. Clinical experiences are structured to support increasing levels of responsibility, moving from observation and assisted participation to independent performance of computed tomography examinations. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, radiation dose optimization, diagnostic image quality, professional communication, and ethical practice. The practicum is aligned with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Clinical Experience Requirements for Computed Tomography and supports completion and documentation of required clinical procedures necessary for post-primary certification eligibility.
